From Dubai International, an RTA airport taxi begins with roughly an AED 25 airport flagfall and runs at about AED 2.19 per kilometre, so the metered fare to Downtown Dubai or the Marina realistically totals AED 50–70 once the small airport surcharge is added. The cheapest alternative is the Dubai Metro Red Line straight from the Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 stations, where a three-zone ride to Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall costs about AED 7.50 on a Silver nol card. Along Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) the drive is a brisk 15–20 minutes off-peak but stretches to 35–45 minutes in morning and evening rush hour, and the Metro does not run through the small hours; a private VIP fare is agreed in advance whatever the traffic.
